AARA Money Flowing, But States Moving Slowly
ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 24 — While the U.S. Department of Education (ED) this week released nearly $4.5 billion in stabilization funds to three states, the vast majority of states haven’t even applied for their share of the initial pot.
In addition to the three approved states — California, Illinois and South Dakota — only five other states have submitted applications to the department for review, ED officials confirmed Wednesday at the American Association of School Administrators legislative conference.
