Analysis: ED Takes Hard Line on ARRA Reporting
U.S. Department of Education (ED) officials have made it clear that they expect unprecedented accountability and reporting for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery) funds. This has been, and will continue to be, a matter of critical importance for the Administration.
As stated in the fact sheets issued by ED, "To prevent fraud and abuse, support the most effective uses of [Recovery] funds, and accurately measure and track results, recipients must publicly report on how funds are used.Due to the unprecedented scope and importance of this investment, Recovery funds are subject to additional and more rigorous reporting requirements than normally apply to grant recipients." Therefore, it is important to be aware of the additional reporting requirements.
