ARRA Teacher Quality Grants Now Available

Washington, May 29 -- The U.S. Department of Education (ED) Wednesday announced that an estimated 25 to 35 five-year grants averaging $1.5 million annually will be awarded under the first of many ED competitive grant programs funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

These grants will be awarded under the Teacher Quality Partnerships (TQP) Program, a recently revamped version of an existing federal program now supercharged with $100 million in extra ARRA funding. This funding has been combined with $43 million in regular 2009 funding for a total of $143 million to be awarded in this competition.
