Community College System Should Gear Up for Stimulus Influx


Washington, March 20 — Billions of stimulus dollars for new workforce training, combined with a temporary change in contracting rules, could help the nation’s community colleges revamp the American workforce for “green” jobs and other high-demand occupations.

If a new analysis by the Georgetown Center on Education and the Workforce is correct, more than half of the 3.7 million jobs expected to be created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will require some college or a certificate.
