ED Formally Kicks Off ‘Race to the Top’ Competition
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) today released its long-awaited notice inviting state applications for its $4.35 billion Race to the Top fund.
Applications will be accepted in two waves, with the second wave consisting of applicants who are not ready for the first deadline or who failed to win the first time. The first deadline is Jan. 19, 2010 and the second is June 1, 2010. Technical assistance conferences for prospective state applicants will be held in Denver on Dec. 3 and in Washington Dec 10.
