ED Releases Requirements for Phase Two Stabilization Funds
Washington, Nov. 10 — The U.S. Department of Education (ED) has published a set of 35 reporting requirements that states must comply with if they want to receive the final chunk — $11.5 — billion of state stabilization funds from the economic stimulus.
The requirements center on four goals outlined by the Obama administration that are the foundation of many programs funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: tough academic standards, recruiting and keeping effective teachers, tracking student performance with refined data collection methods and turning around the lowest performing schools.
