Registration Opens on ARRA Reporting Site

Registration for the mandatory stimulus reporting Web site opened this week in anticipation of the first required reports in October.

State and local governments, contractors, universities, non-profits and others that have received a grant, loan or contract of $25,000 or more under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 are required to register on the website, www.FederalReporting.gov. The site is a key element of the Obama administration's pledge of unprecedented transparency and public accountability for spending under the ARRA.

Registration is the first step in a process that requires recipients to submit their first spending reports beginning Oct. 1. Recipients have until Oct. 10 to submit reports. ARRA recipients are required to report on the use of funds no later than the 10th day after the end of each calendar quarter.

Prior to registering, each prime recipient and sub-recipient must have a DUNS number, which is a unique 9-digit number issued by Dun & Bradstreet that should be available on the ARRA award document, and be registered with the government on the central contractor registration Web site.— Andrew Brownstein
